ArcGIS 3D Analyst provides powerful and advanced visualization, analysis, and surface generation tools. It is also available as an extension to ArcGIS Server. With ArcGIS 3D Analyst, users can view large datasets from multiple viewpoints, query a surface, and create realistic perspective images. Users can also drape raster and vector data over a surface and extrude two-dimensional features to three dimensions using attribute data. With ArcGIS 3D Analyst, users can perform viewshed and line-of-sight analysis, spot height interpolation, profiling, and steepest path determination. In addition, users can model subsurface features, such as wells, mines, and groundwater, and construct models via ModelBuilder to analyze results in three dimensions. User-defined animations, using flight paths, key frames, and other interactive tools, allow the user to convey a message or concept that can easily be saved to standard video formats such as MPEG, AVI, or QuickTime. The ArcGlobe application in ArcGIS 3D Analyst allows you to manage and visualize, from a local or global perspective, extremely large sets of three-dimensional geographic data. ArcGlobe provides the capability to seamlessly interact with any geographic information as data layers on a three-dimensional globe.
