2012 Esri Partner Conference Award – Public Web Application

Blue Raster has won the 2012 Esri Partner Conference Award in the Public Web Application category for its Indonesian Rainforest Preservation (Forest Cover Analyzer) application.  Blue Raster was one of six category winners who were honored at the Esri Partner Conference, which was held March 24-27, 2012 in Palm Springs.  The awards recognized companies who have developed practical yet innovative solutions using Esri ArcGIS 10.

The winning application supports Project POTICO (Palm Oil, Timber, Carbon Offsets), an initiative of the World Resources Institute designed to preserve endangered rainforests in Indonesia.  Using the Forest Cover Analyzer application, users can compare current and historical satellite imagery of Indonesian forests and monitor changes to the forest cover.  The application can be used by government agencies and nongovernmental organizations to assess whether there is a high risk that primary forests have been lost in areas being considered for investment or oil palm expansion.
